Special Interest Groups

(Bill George, SIG Coordinator January 14, 2024).

If you have an interest in a particular genealogy topic please volunteer to hold a monthly meeting, called a Special Interest Group or SIG, on that topic. We will help to arrange a time and place and will publicize. It may seem counter-intuitive, but to host and/or present at a meeting is a great way to learn.

Please take advantage of the hard work of our volunteers and enjoy what the SIGs have to offer. Also note that August and December are the months that SIGs don't meet (with the exception of the over-achieving Publishing SIG).

If you're interested in geographical genealogy help, like Southern States, English or Scandanavian, please make an appointment with the Danville FamilySearch Center by calling 926-837-7010. More information is on our home page.

Please also review our Member Resources Document. All SIG information is listed as well as research help from the Danville FamilySearch Center volunteers and their weekly schedule.

Our SIGs are a benefit of being a member of the San Ramon Valley Genealogical Society. They are available to SRVGS members and guests can attend one SIG meeting for free.
